Six Signs You Are Ready for the Reset Program, and Three Signs You Are Not Yet

The light in my bathroom isn’t sunrise. It’s something quieter than that — the sort that leaks in through the Surrey window, pale and undecided. I’m half-dressed, razor in hand, standing in front of the mirror before the first session of the day. It’s early, but I’m already running through the applicants from yesterday in my head. One yes. One not yet. One never. I hadn’t written anything down. Didn’t need to. The truth is, the nine signs I’m about to give you are the ones I check through myself, every time, before my mouth gives an answer. I’ve learnt the hard way: transformation doesn’t start when you pay for a programme. It starts when you meet your real self in the mirror, before you ever book the call.

This piece is a straight-up check. I’m going to lay out six signs you’re ready for the Reset Programme, and three signs you’re not. Not in theory, but in the same honest way I check myself before I let someone in. Run these against yourself before you ever hit “book a call”. The answer you find matters more than anything I could say.

You’re Ready If You’re Done Living on Autopilot

I see it in the eyes before the words are even spoken: the look of someone who’s tired of drifting through the motions, ticking off tasks, and calling it living. If you’re here, you likely know what it’s like to wake up before the alarm, mind racing, chest tight, your day already running away before you’ve had a say in it. I’ve been there myself — staring at the ceiling at 04:47 on a Tuesday, wondering when exactly I lost the steering wheel.

The End of Numbing and the Start of Noticing

  • You’ve caught yourself numbing out — scrolling, drinking, zoning out in meetings, waiting for the day to end.
  • You’re not just aware of your patterns — you’re uncomfortable with them.
  • The realisation stings: *You’re a machine in a suit, productive but empty*.

Noticing the autopilot isn’t weakness. It’s the first crack of awareness. In my own life, that happened not in a crisis, but in a thousand small moments: a calendar filled with other people’s priorities, a girlfriend eating alone three nights a week, a nephew’s football match missed for a call that didn’t matter. If you’re there — if you’re quietly aching for more — you’re already ahead of most.

You Want to Reclaim Your Time, Not Just Manage It

  • The calendar doesn’t feel like it belongs to you any more.
  • You’re starting to see your schedule as a confession, not a badge of honour.
  • You crave more than just “better productivity” — you want your life back.

There was a Sunday night I scrolled through my own calendar and realised I couldn’t find a single slot that was just for me. That’s the moment you begin to understand: time management isn’t the goal. Ownership is.

You’re Willing to Get Uncomfortable

  • You sense that change won’t be easy, but you’re less afraid of discomfort than you are of another year lost to inertia.
  • You’re ready to ask sharper questions of yourself, not just blame the system, the boss, or the inbox.

Real readiness isn’t about having the courage to leap. It’s about being fed up enough to stop lying to yourself about what’s not working.

You’re Ready If You’re Hungry for Depth, Not Just Relief

There’s a big difference between wanting things to stop hurting and wanting something richer to take their place. If you’re seeking the Reset Programme because you just want the pain to go, you might get temporary relief — but you won’t get lasting change. Readiness looks like a hunger for depth.

You’re Asking Questions That Scare You

  • “What if the version of success I’m chasing is killing me?”
  • “If I stopped performing, who would I be?”
  • “What would I do with my days if nobody was watching?”

When I blanked out in that client pitch — the one I’d rehearsed a dozen times — it wasn’t the embarrassment that changed me. It was the emptiness that followed. I couldn’t find my notes, my words, or myself. The only way forward was through deeper questions. If you’re asking those questions now, you’re ready.

You Want to Build, Not Just Escape

  • You’re not just looking to quit or run.
  • There’s something in you that wants to build a life you don’t need to numb or escape from.

I see this all the time: the difference between applicants who want to run away and those who want to rebuild. The latter are the ones who thrive. They’re not just tired — they’re curious about what comes next.

You’re Open to Having Your Story Challenged

  • You’re willing to let go of old scripts: “My worth is my output,” “I have to grind to matter,” “Rest is laziness.”
  • You know you don’t have all the answers, and that’s become a source of hope, not shame.

If you’re open to seeing yourself differently, you’re ready for real transformation.

You’re Ready If You’re Prepared to Take Small, Consistent Action

Big talk is everywhere. Real change is small, unglamorous, and repeated. The high performers who thrive in the Reset Programme aren’t the ones who come in with the grandest ambitions — they’re the ones who start with the smallest, most honest actions.

You’ve Stopped Waiting for the Perfect Time

  • You know there’s no perfect season to begin.
  • You’re willing to start with what you have, even if it’s just ten minutes a day.

I built the first version of my own Freedom Framework not in a blaze of inspiration, but in the quiet of the Noise Fast — one honest conversation a day, one 90-minute block for a passion project, one boundary enforced without apology. That’s what sticks.

You’re Ready to Commit (Even if You’re Not Sure You’ll Succeed)

  • You’re willing to try, knowing you might get it wrong before you get it right.
  • You understand that progress is messy and expect to stumble.

The ones who thrive don’t wait until they feel perfectly confident. They start because the alternative — stagnation — is harder to live with.

You’ll Do the Boring Work of Change

  • You’re ready to build new habits, not just chase new highs.
  • You understand that real transformation is about showing up, not showing off.

If you can commit to one aligned action per day, you’re ready.

You’re Ready If You’re Willing to Be Seen — Vulnerably and Honestly

No one transforms alone. If you’re not willing to let someone (me, or another guide, or even a partner or mate) see the real picture, you’ll only ever scratch the surface. Readiness is as much about openness as it is about ambition.

You’ll Tell the Truth (Even if It’s Messy)

  • You can admit when you’re scared, lost, or tired — and you won’t hide it behind a shiny exterior.
  • You’ll let the process work on the real you, not the LinkedIn version.

The first honest kitchen-table conversation I ever had was a revelation. My partner asked how I was, and for once I didn’t give the rehearsed answer. That was the start of everything changing.

You’re Open to Feedback (Not Just Praise)

  • You’re willing to hear hard truths and act on them.
  • You don’t need to be right — you need to get better.

Transformation happens in the space between what we want to hear and what we need to hear.

You’ll Ask for Help

  • You’re willing to say, “I don’t know what to do next,” and accept a hand up.
  • You understand there’s no shame in needing guidance.

Strength isn’t about never needing help. It’s about having the guts to ask.

You’re Not Ready If You’re Only Chasing Approval, Not Change

Let’s be honest — not everyone who reaches out is genuinely ready for the work. And that’s OK. You’re not behind. But there are clear signs you’re not yet ready for the Reset Programme. I see them in the mirror just as clearly as I see the yes signs.

You Want to Be Understood, Not Changed

  • You’re looking for someone to nod along, validate your story, and tell you it’s all going to be fine, without you having to change anything.
  • You’re not ready to let go of the old scripts — “I just need someone to see how hard I work.”

Understanding is important, but transformation means stepping beyond needing to be agreed with.

You’re Collecting Programmes (But Not Doing the Work)

  • You’ve done three or four different courses already, but nothing’s stuck.
  • You keep searching for the perfect book, the perfect coach, the perfect moment — but action never follows.

If you’re still in the “research” phase, that’s fine. But don’t kid yourself: information isn’t transformation.

You’re Blaming, Not Owning

  • Everything is someone else’s fault — the boss, the company, the family, the market.
  • You’re not willing to ask, “How am I contributing to my own pain?”

Nobody gets better carrying a pocketful of blame. The door to real change is labelled “ownership”.

The R.E.S.E.T. Arc for Self-Readiness

R — Recognise:

Recognise that readiness isn’t a mood or a fleeting burst of motivation. It’s a state you can check, crisply, in the mirror — a list of real patterns, not just how you’re feeling this morning. I had to learn that for myself. Readiness is visible, nameable, and it shows up the same way every time. It’s not about hype; it’s about honesty.

E — Evaluate:

Evaluate yourself against the nine. Don’t fudge it. This isn’t school — there’s no point in passing if it’s not true. If you can tick six, you’re ready. If you’re at four, give yourself the gift of patience and come back when you’re honest-to-God ready. It’s better to wait than to pretend.

S — Strategise:

Strategise the next step that fits where you are. If you’re a yes, don’t overthink it — book the call. If not, be brave enough to name the single habit, belief, or pattern you need to look at before you come back. The next right step is always simple, even if it’s not easy.

E — Execute:

Execute honesty. Don’t tick a box because it sounds good, or because you want me to say yes. The Reset Programme only works on the real picture — the one you actually live, not the one you perform for others. Your first act of transformation is telling the truth.

T — Transform:

Transform from wanting to be a “yes” at any cost, to wanting the right answer for where you actually are. There’s real power in being in the proper season for change — not forced, not faked. That’s the difference between sticking it and slipping back.

The Bottom Line: Readiness Is a Mirror, Not a Mood

Let’s keep it simple. The three most important things you need to remember from this check:

1. Readiness is a checkable state, not a feeling. You can name it. You can count it. It’s not about how motivated you are on a Monday morning; it’s about whether the six signs are true in your life, right now.

2. Six yeses is the floor. Not five. Not “nearly all”. The Reset Programme isn’t for everyone, and that’s the point. If you’re not there yet, you’re not behind — you’re just being honest, which is the first step.

3. The quiet willingness to be changed — not merely understood — outranks everything else. If you’re ready to let go of old scripts, to be seen, and to act (not just talk), you’re ready for the work that brings freedom, not just relief.

If you’re sitting in front of your own mirror right now, wondering where you land, run yourself through the Reset Programme checklist — I’ll take you through the nine in the same plain English I’ve used here. And if you’re ready, click “Run me through the nine-sign check”. I’ll meet you on the other side, not from a pedestal, but as someone who’s run the same check in the same bathroom mirror, more times than I care to count.

The Move From Here

Look — what you've just read is the diagnosis. I wrote The Freedom Reset Blueprint as the system: forty pages, the complete R.E.S.E.T. Framework, the same one I had to build from scratch when nobody else had a map for it. It's not another book about burnout. It's the operating manual for getting your wiring sorted, your calendar back, and your evenings to feel like yours again — priced so the cost is never the reason you didn't move.

Look — you didn't get here by accident. You got here from months, maybe years, of telling yourself you'd 'sort this out when things settle down.' Things don't settle down. They get heavier. The cheap option isn't waiting — it's deciding tonight.
